I just started learning how to play guitar a couple days ago, and I was just curious as to if you must learn guitar strumming before you consider picking, as I’ve heard it’s a real bitch to learn. This true?

Well when I first learned guitar, i taught myself so I didn’t even know how to hold a pick and it just felt awkward so i started out only finger picking. I used my thumb at first and then starting using my index and middle fingers and so on. As time goes on you will need to learn to play with a pick, but to start off you can use whatever you like, it won’t effect the quality of play in the future. I can fluently use a pick or my fingers now. The key to anything that takes skill in life is practice practice practice!
