Q&A: How do you play G key on guitar?!?

I am so perplexed! Just started out teaching myself guitar and I have two diverse G significant chords?!?!? In a video clip I watched on youtube and some chord sheets it states I use 4 fingers to play the chord but in my educate yourself e-book and a guitar website it says to only use three fingers?!?

I do not want to know which a single you feel is far more reputable… Can someone who plays guitar plz inform me which 1 is correct??
