I want to learn guitar, but I have no money for classes. So I will have to self teach. What ways are there to teach myself more effectively?

You can learn on youtube. & ultimate guitar . Haha im serious though, thats how my best friend learned and now she can play pretty much anything. It all just takes a whole lot of practice and patience (:
